August 2

If at first you don't succeed, try try again. So, the fact that my first attempt at a blog failed I'm trying again.

I can't believe it's August already. Living in the country the rains were nice for a while, the cows are smiling and the weeds are as high as the mesquite trees but it is still green in Texas. We haven't had rain in about 4 days now and the temp is reflecting such.

I really haven't accomplished much this summer. Went to Tulsa the end of May for my g'son's high school graduation. Then about two weeks ago my daughter from Tulsa surprised us all with a visit. It was short but enjoyable. She also purchased fabric, made and top, quilted and bound it before she left for home. Why can't I do that???.........LOL My other daughter helped rearrange my quilt room this past weekend and said I couldn't start another project until I finished one. Hope she isn't holding her breath.

Have some exciting plans for the fall. The end of September I'll be going to South America...that's South Texas to most, to go to the Toby Keith concert with my friend, Sherry. When I told her that I "knew someone that knew Toby Keith" I would see if I could get tickets. She had to spill the beans and inform me that she already had a ticket for me to his concert. YEHAW!!! Then in October I'll be off to Vegas again, with Sherry, to the Jimmy Buffett concert. We had a blast last year and when she asked if I wanted to go of course I said yes. Two weeks later it's off to Houston for the International Quilt Festival.

Now I need to get back to work so I have some funds for the fun.

Love the 'look' of this blog Judy! It really matches you and your Texas Country Girl image. Keep it up! And we love to see pictures of your quilting even if it isn't our own!
