Time Marches On............

Didn't realize it had been so long since I posted here. Just a few items to bring things up to date. Here where I live we have had a VERY dry spring, the area around us looks like it's August. Sure wish we could take some of the flood water off of those suffering in the mid-west. We raise cattle and now we are looking for hay, it will be about the price of a barrel of oil. Also had a garden for the first time in a few years. It did great for a while but not the heat, no rain and we had had a lot of wind, garden about gone. But, will try to keep it going just for the tomatoes then the fall garden...yum yum.

I'm heading to East Texas in the morning for my quilting group's annual retreat. We go to The Red Barn in Coldspring. This is our 6th consecutive year and we have so much fun.

Back in May I got to go to an Alan Jackson concert, that was very enjoyable. The end of July and quilting friend (Bonnie) and I are headed to Jackson Hole to visit another quilting friend (Cyd). I have not been in the part of the country so really looking forward to the visit. Cyd says her DH has a fly fishing trip planned for me. Uh oh....I have NO experience with a fly rod, this could be ugly....LOL We will also get to Yellowstone for a visit. Then back home and count the weeks until the (becoming annual) trip to Vegas and a Jimmy Buffett concert. We have a newbie going along this year and we will have a blast. We also added another day to the trip just so we don't run out of time before we run out of fun..and money.

Will try to post more often and find some pictures to show all the good times being had.

Happy quilting.......or what ever.....LOL

Happy New Year

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. Can't believe tomorrow is the last day of 2007, seems it was just yesterday were were waiting on 2000 to get here.

Christmas was nice and so was Santa. I got a new digital camera, a small diamond drop, gift cards and some jammies. The weather was typical for Texas, cool morning and warm afternoon. All of the family was here except Carol and the kids in Oklahoma. Dylan is off to Winter Park working during the Christmas break but he seems to be having a grand time. I hear he took some snow boarding lessons. Kenneth and I decided to go camping Christmas night...bad idea. We are in a burn ban but dug a hole and built a small fire. Then we decided the wind was blowing too much so out went the fire. Now what is camping without a campfire??? We lasted about 3 hours then loaded up and came back to the house. Probably did the right thing as Kenneth was coming down with a cold and spent the next two days laying around dealing with that. The tent is still up, wonder if any wondering soul as found it and taken up residence...LOL My guess if anything probably a skunk....LOL

I'm all set for the bowl games starting tomorrow. I actually got 4 of my quilt tops quilted, a few have the bindings on ready for hand work so that's what I will be doing while watching the games. I do have some favorites, OU, Hawaii, LSU........and my most unfavorite is "The Ohio State". I hope LSU has their game of the year. Oh, but then that means the winner will have two losses and if Hawaii wins they are undefeated....BCS???? Sure...LOL

I have my UFO list all set for 2008. I acually finished over 30 projects in '07. It's fun to set up this document and keep up with what I have done, need to do and "why did I start that?". I have one set of blocks on Ebay. Three years and not finished so time to move on.

Hope all of you have a wonderful 2008.
