Just thought you might want to know

Our electrical company is Bluebonnet Elec. and they do a Texas Co-op Power magazine. Our copy arrived and as usual I tossed it in the trash. Last night during supper Kenneth said he had seen a copy else where and it had a nice article about quilts. So, this morning I go digging through the trash for my copy.

The very first sentence is "Nothing speaks of home a like a quilt.........." A book, Texas Quilts and Quilters: A Lone Star Legacy, to be issued in October by Texas Tech University Press, has some wonderful stories about the roles quilts play in family life. The author is Marcia Kaylakie. This sounds like a book I would like to read.

There is also an article in the same magazine titled "Boerne to Castroville". Just scanned it but sounds interesting. It says you can take a "handy little European tour in the Texas Hill Country" going through German, Polish and French towns just outside of San Antonio. Start in Boerne, follow Texas 46 and Texas 16 west to Bandera, then FM 470 and FM 462 south to Hondo, and then east along U.S. 90 to Castroville. It's about a 95 miles journey and you don't need a passport. Now doesn't that make you want to pack a picnic and hit the road??? Camera in hand of course.

Just getting my day started so other than the above, nothing exciting to report.
